Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimenez; September 2, 1966)[3][4][5] is a Mexican and American actress and film producer. Her career began in Mexico and she appeared in the television drama Teresa (1989-1991) and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) which earned her an Ariel Award nomination. She soon established herself in Hollywood through appearances in films such as Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), and Dogma (1999). Hayek's portrayal of painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) that she also co-produced she became the first Mexican actress to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress[6as well as earning her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek played the lead in the action-oriented Once Upon a Time in Mexico pictures in subsequent years and focused on producing.
